The world's upside down.

Image
There are a million ways to interpret "Exits" in Part 1 of the new album, Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost, by Foals. Here are two: Your whole world has been turned upside down. There is no escaping death. "The black sky came down and the city's underground. The flowers upside down…in our dreams. Oh, to meet you again, to pass you on the stairs, to see you everywhere…in my dreams." Much like what could be interpreted by the music video , you ultimately want to be the best of the very best. You can dream about being the greatest at what you do but the sad truth is, and very often more than not, there is someone better at it. Once you realize this, you hit a wall you can never pass. You then realize your life is one big metaphor; "my whole world has been turned upside down." This song even mentions upside-down flowers and cities being underground, literally envisioning a world that has been flipped. "I'm so sorry to have kept you wai

You're killing me with your propaganda.

"You can't lose. You make me offers that I can't refuse. You keep telling pretty lies. You're tired with the truth." "Propaganda" by Muse is a song about being lied to. Blue Moon's White IPA is a perfect pairing. The first time you take a sip, you will never expect how smooth it is. IPAs are often not this smooth. Yet, you can still taste the bitterness of the hops even though it looks like a wheat. The hops will pounce at your palate just like when Muse yells "Propaganda" into your ears. "Only you're killing me with your propaganda." Hopaganda! Hello!?

Image
Blazing World, an amber ale by Modern Times Beer, is a hoppy beer where you can really taste and smell the variety of hops. It'll take your tastebuds on a roller coaster. "'Hello' from the enemy." Make that ride even crazier by listening to "Red Horse" by Plural. It's an edgy hardcore-rock jam that pairs nicely with any red or amber ale. Not many heavy rock songs sound as melodic as this one. The guitar rifts are just beautifully insane. "I have yet to reveal the many different sides of me." This song is heavy but it's a joy to listen to every instrument, even as unusual as they are, since they make for one fantastic rhythmic song. It's just like how a hoppy beer, such as Blazing World, can be so smooth while still being able to taste every single hop. "It all depends on the things that I feel and I fear." Why must it be a June bug?

Image
June bugs feed on trees, shrubs, and other plants. They are the monster that rises from your backyard making your garden turn from heaven to hell. "What is in store? Big bug; it's a June bug. Flying at me; I need a huge hug. Kill me. Oh please…rather die than to see a June bug." A little emo. All rock. Scat! "Junebug" by Fencer is one crazy and heavy song about a ridiculous fear. The drums, guitar, and vocals are all played insanely fast. The lead singer even scats about June bugs in the rhythm of the lead guitar. Maybe the band members are huge nature activists or maybe they just really hate the look of this beetle. Either way, this song is clearly made in hatred of June bugs. "See a June bug; don't be a June bug. See a June bug; don't be a June bug. Why must it be a June bug?" Found throughout a huge chunk of Texas, mostly in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, is a beer called June Bug Summer Wheat by Nine Band Brewing but this is no
